Suzanne Hunt

Suzanne Hunt joined Generate Capital as Policy Director in 2021 after serving as a consultant to Generate for several years, and in 2023 she became Generate Upcycle’s VP, Policy. Suzanne has over two decades of experience solving problems in energy, agriculture, transportation, waste, and the environment. Suzanne is also a Co-Owner of her family farm and certified sustainable winery in the Finger Lakes, Hunt Country Vineyards. She serves on the external Sustainability Council that advises the CEO and senior leadership of Bayer Corporation in Germany. She is a Northeast Chapter Director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), a member of the Board of the environmental non-profit Energy Vision, and she serves on the Advisory Council for the Center for Earth Ethics at the Union Divinity School. She is the Chair of the External Advisory Board to Cornell AgriTech, is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Committee to the NY Wine & Grape Foundation, and is a Trustee of the Seneca Park Zoo Society. Suzanne has served as an advisor to entities such as the Club of Madrid, Air New Zealand, and the Carbon War Room. Suzanne was a founding advisor to the annual Art Center Sustainable Mobility Summit. From 2005–2007, Suzanne directed the Worldwatch Institute’s bioenergy program where she orchestrated the landmark research initiative and resulting book, "Biofuels for Transportation: Global Potential and Implications for Energy and Agriculture." In 2007 she founded Hunt Green LLC whose clients have included a wide variety of non-profits, private equity firms, U.N. bodies, government agencies, clean tech startups, and Fortune 500 companies. Suzanne has been featured as a "Pioneer" in Science Magazine, and as an expert in her fields in national and international print media and television. She holds a BS in Environmental Science from Penn State, and MA degrees in International Affairs and Natural Resource Management from American University and the UN’s University for Peace in Costa Rica.
